We offer Sunday School classes for children of all ages at 10 am!
3 years and younger can be found in the Nursery
4 years through 2nd grade is taught by Ms. Kelli and Ms. Amber
3rd grade through 5th grade is taught by Pastor Tiffany.
During 11 am worship, the pastor invites children to come forward to the front pew of the sanctuary for an interactive, kids' lesson. then, children are dismissed to attend Children's Church during the sermon. The kids will explore a lesson that's meant just for them. Children's Church leaders will return children to their parents/guardians before the end of the worship service. This program is designed for kids years 4 to 11.
Special activities are hosted for our children throughout the year. Activities might include a outing to a water park, a Kids' Night Out, a fall carnival, an Easter egg hunt, summer camp, Christmas party and pageant, Vacation Bible School, Art Workshops, retreats, dance workshops, and service projects.
COME AND FELLOWSHIP WITH US!
We meet for Sunday school every Sunday at 10:00 am, between our worship services, for grades 6th-12th.
The youth meets on Wednesday night with starting dinner at 6 pm- which is supplied by church members. And around 6:30 we start with a time of fellowship and lesson. This is open to anyone in 6th-12th grade. We are currently working our way through Genesis.
CAMPS AND RETREATS
During the summer and twice during the school year we spend time with the other youth from our area of the Christian Church at our camp, Disciples Crossing, in Athens, Texas. We go there to worship, play, pray and reconnect with God and friends. Our trips to camp are some of the highlights of the year.
Our summer mission trips help us practice living a life full of service to others just like the life Jesus modeled for us. Past year's mission trips have been to Austin, San Antonio, the Texas/Mexico border, Washington, D.C., and Denver. We have worked at food banks, a daycare for elderly clients with dementia, a home for abused children, construction projects, and more. On each trip we have learned something new about our neighbors and ourselves. We always come home changed and a little more motivated to make our world a better place.
Mission Trip 2017 is to Baton Rouge in partnership with Disciple Summer Mission (click here to visit their website). Disciple Summer Mission (DSM) has been around since 2010, and has been to may places around our region, including: Albuquerque, Nashville, San Marcos TX, St. Louis, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, etc. DSM's mission is to create a place for church to come, fellowship with other churches, while building a strong bond with your own. With that model, our church will get to know other churches in the area, but will be working with the youth and adult sponsors from our church. Alex Smith, our Youth Minister, has been a part of DSM for the last 3 years, serving on their planning team for the last 2 years.
ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
FCC offers several Sunday School opportunities for adults every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
The Disciples Class meets in the next-to-last classroom on the right side of the Education Wing. Dr. James Oglesby usually teaches the classes, which is based on the Uniform Sunday School Series common to many denominations. This class is mostly taught in lecture format. To read one of Dr. Oglesby's well-loved lessons, click HERE.
The Seekers Class meets across from the Ditto room. This group focuses on interactive discussion about faith and everyday life. The class is led by Ron Branstetter.
The Young Adult Group meets in the Adran room for Bible study, discussion, and fellowship. "Young Adult" is a flexible term, but the group generally consists of 20- and 30-somethings, and also gets together for service work and fun outings.
The men meet weekly on Wednesday mornings for prayer and a devotional. They then go eat breakfast together. The group eats a hearty breakfast prepared by some members of the fellowship. Breakfast is followed by a program. All adults are also invited to join our Dinner for 8 groups, which meet monthly at different restaurants or homes around town. Groups change and grow throughout the year.
The women meet on the first Thursday of the month in September through May for Disciples Women's Fellowship meetings. They share refreshments together and usually have a guest speaker. The 3rd Thursday of the month is home to the Women's Book Club. All meetings begin at 10:00 am. All adults are also invited to join our Dinner for 8 groups, which meet monthly at different restaurants or homes around town. Groups change and grow throughout the year.
The Music Ministry of First Christian Church glorifies God through choral music, handbell music, and contemporary praise music. Previous music experience is helpful, but not as important as a willingness to learn and to work as a team!

At FCC Granbury, we cherish every human being, mind, body, and spirit, and believe that God calls us to care for the bodies we've been gifted. The following ministries were created to help us do so. All are welcome.
