Judy's Christian faith has compelled her to work in many areas of the church. She says that one of my most rewarding positions has been that of a Parish Nurse. Judy received her Parish Nurse training about 17 years ago from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  She has worked in that capacity in Fulton, Missouri and was one of three Parish Nurses that served several denominations.  After that Judy served in 3 Disciples churches in Missouri and Colorado.  Her work was always as a volunteer as, are most Parish Nurses. Parish Nurses are trained to focus on the whole person and emphasizes wellness, disease prevention, health promotion and spirituality.  They are trained health educators, personal health counselors, facilitators, advocates and interpreters. Judy has also worked as a home health nurse, started and administered a home care agency, and did home care consulting. She has worked as an Emergency Room Nurse, Poison Information Center nurse, and Special Projects Analyst in Nursing Administration at Parkland in Dallas. And now, Judy is thoroughly enjoying serving here at First Christian in Granbury.
