First Christian Church Come Worship with Us

Worship Service Times

9 am- Celebration Worship Service

10 am- Sunday School for all ages

11 am- Traditional Worship Service

The Celebration Service is typically more casual and contemporary in feel than our 11:00 am Traditional Service. The congregation is led in singing by our praise band Witness. The band includes drums, guitars, and keyboard and the occasional mandolin or harmonica. At the 9:00 am service, the people come forward to receive the Lord's Supper from our ministers and elders. If you enjoy worship that is less formal but still takes the worship of God seriously, this service is probably for you.

At First Christian Church we believe in an "open" communion table, which simply means all of God's people are welcome to participate. At both worship services, anyone who wishes to participate in the celebration of the Lord's Supper is encouraged to share in the bread and cup with us.

A freshly updated nursery staffed by caring, qualified adults is available during both services.

The 11:00 am Traditional Service offers traditional hymns and a higher degree of formality than our 9:00 am Celebration Service. The congregation is led in singing by the choir and the organ or piano. Other elements of a more traditional worship service are also present, such as reciting the Lord's Prayer or singing the Doxology and the Gloria Patri. The Lord's Supper is distributed by the deacons to worshipers who remain seated in the pews.

If you're new to church, we try to make our traditions easy to understand and find in the worship bulletin. If you grew up in a church that offered a traditional worship service and prefer that sort of setting then the 11:00 am service is probably for you. Either way, we hope you'll come experience it for yourself.

JESUS SAID, "LET THE LITTLE  CHILDREN  COME TO ME, AND DO NOT STOP THEM; FOR IT IS TO SUCH AS THESE THAT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN BELONGS. "

At First Christian Church, we try to take this teaching of Jesus to heart.  We hope that all children feel welcome, safe and loved each time they enter the doors of our church, including our nursery.

The nursery is open from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Sundays.  It is also available for our special services and programs throughout the year.  Newborns through Pre-K children are invited to join Miss Linda, our nursery supervisor, and her helpers for fun and learning during Sunday school and worship. But, of course, if your family prefers, feel free to have your little ones in worship with you.

To ensure the safety of our little ones, only properly trained and background checked personnel are allowed in the nursery.  Thanks for understanding.

We're located at 2109 W Hwy 377, just west of town, past the hospital and next to the Tractor Supply.

What's the Parking Situation?
As you pull into our parking lot, either a right hand turn or a left hand turn will lead you to a parking space.  Both main entrances to our church (on the right and the left sides) are under big car ports.  Once you're inside, you should see a greeter who will help you find your way around our facility (look for someone with a red name tag).

Is FCC Handicap Accessible?
Handicap parking and accessibility to our sanctuary is available and easiest to access near our two carports. We have wheelchair accessibility among our pews, and hearing aid devices are available for guests who might be hearing impaired.

What Are The People Like?
Our people are professional and blue collar, young and old, conservative and liberal. We believe that being a community committed to following the teachings of Jesus is more important than agreeing on all of the particulars of faith. You'll find people from all kinds of viewpoints and all kinds of backgrounds at our church. And that's the way we like it!

What's The Vibe Like?
FCC Granbury is a pretty laid-back place.  We're serious about our faith, but we seriously believe that a life of faith is meant to be joyful and authentic.  We want you to come as you are, and share with us the beautiful piece of God that is in you.

Will I Feel Welcome?
It's very important to us that you do.  The people of our church want everyone to feel welcome here, and we try our best to connect with everyone that comes through our doors.  Of course, the more you stick around, introduce yourself, and get involved, the more likely you are to connect!

Is This Church a Friendly Place for Kids?
We LOVE kids! FCC Granbury has a ministers dedicated to fostering the faith of our children and youth.

What Will People Be Wearing?
Your guess is as good as ours!  Some of us feel most comfortable worshiping God in a dress or suit and tie.  Others prefer to worship in shorts or jeans.  Whatever you choose to wear, you'll be able to find someone who is dressed similarly to you.

If I Visit, Will I Get 10,000 visits, emails and phone calls?
No. You will get a follow up phone call or note IF you choose to give us your address or phone number. You will not get more contact than you desire.

We do promise that you will get noticed and welcomed, even if you only choose to worship with us once. You matter to us and to God!
